"Sexual Assault is any unwanted or non-consensual sexual contact. Whether that be just touching, grabbing, or penetration with digits, genitals, or object of some sort," said Diane McBride, a junior at Texas State.
"I think that if someone has been sexually assaulted, they can keep their anonymity if they so choose," McBride said. "If there is one person that keeps coming up and keeps being accused of sexual assault, the school should go through the further discipline to expel them. Their actions should go on their academic transcript and the rapist should be forced to go to counseling throughout the semester and actually participate."
According to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center website (NSVRC), one in five women and one in 71 men will be raped at some point in their lives. They also say that more than 90% of sexual assault victims on college campuses do not report the assault. Almost half (49.5%) of multiracial women and over 45% of American Indian/Alaska Native women were subject to some form of contact sexual violence in their lifetime.

Hannah Legge, a 22-year-old Political Science major at Texas State said that this needs to be a zero tolerance campus. She goes on to say "In other words, if you commit an act of sexual assault your enrollment should be completely declined."
If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, call the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-4673, they are open 24 hours a day.
