Katelyn Arp said, “I think Texas State should promote more resources to victims of sexual assault.”

“People are not as aware of it as they could be,” said Arp.

“I think sexual assault is much more common than people think on college campuses,” said Arp. “It happens everywhere.”

“I feel that I can spread awareness through posts on social media and by being aware of my surroundings and situations I am in,” said Arp.

“Personally, I am involved in many organizations and was an RA at Texas State,” said Legge. “I always make sure to let people around me know that they can come to me in stressful situations that they may not be very good at handling.”

“Texas State needs to become a zero tolerance campus,” said Legge.

“In other words, if you commit an act of sexual assault your enrolment should be completely declined,” said Legge.“I think this should be a statewide policy.”

“I think this would make sexual assault less common on campus,” said Legge.

‘‘I would define sexual assault as a forceful action upon another person,’’ said Cameron Ellis, 21-year-old Round Rock resident. ‘‘Without the consent of them.’’

‘‘I unfortunately don’t think there’s a way to stop someone else’s actions unless they can stop it first hand,’’ said Ellis.

‘‘The best way to prevent sexual assault personally is to live a life advocating for the good in the world,’’ said Ellis. ‘‘And this by spreading awareness, as there is so much negativity going on.’’

‘‘Maybe, if sex offenders see the wrongness behind what they are actually doing through their peers, maybe then they will see the error in their ways,’’ said Ellis.

‘‘My definition of sexual assault would be touching someone inappropriately without consent,’’ said Beckah Manetta, 19-year-old Elementary school teacher assistant.

‘‘Yes, I have either witnessed or experienced sexual assault but I’d prefer not to say,’’ said Manetta. ‘‘It’s a sensitive subject to talk about.’’

‘‘To prevent sexual assault personally, I think to be aware of my surroundings and conscious of situations I let myself get into,’’ said Manetta.

‘‘It’s important to always be prepared that anything can happen.’’ said Manetta.
