Many students have experienced or at least witnessed sexual assault.

Sarah Jimenez said, “Yes, on the square where a drunk guy kept pursing and touching a girl and his advances were unwelcomed.”

When asked to define sexual assault, Jimenez said, “Unwelcoming sexual advances towards one person to another.”

“Speak more about it before the fact and not after an attack through email,” said Jimenez about what Texas State University should do to condemn sexual assault.

"Consistently using my voice to tell others that [sexual assault] not okay."

“Yes, I have experienced it personally when a man could not take no as an answer.”

“Sexually touching a person without permission,” said Grzonka.

When asked what she could do personally to prevent sexual assault, Grzonka said, “Being stronger and more confident in voicing my opinions.”

“Offer defense classes once a month,” said Grzonka. “Or classes in general on how to fight or stop sexual assault.”

Eddy Guevara, Health Fitness and Exercise major, 22

“Touching and engaging in sexual activities without consent from both parties,” Said Guevara.

Eddy Guevara said, “ Defend these women and be an example towards men showing that sexual assault is not okay.”

“Especially being in the military, there was always disgusting sexual advances towards women.”

“Poster and campaigns. There are not enough posters or campaigns voicing that assault is not okay and how to survive it,” said Guevara.

Evan Mccabe, Computer Science major, 31

"Sexual assault means unwanted advances."

"No, I have never witnessed nor experienced sexual assault," said Mccabe.

"I do not know," said Mccabe about preventing sexual assault. "I have never experienced anything like it, but I am willing to help however I can."

"Whatever party is found guilty, not just accused, I think Texas State should have harsher punishments. Also, demonstrate these punishments instead of just talking about it."
