Meet the new Groom, David De La Garza!





David De La Garza was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas, where he also grew up with two older sisters. He decided to attend Texas State University and move to the town of San Marcos. De La Garza is a current senior at Texas State University and will be graduating with a bachelor's degree in public relations, in the spring of 2019. De La Garza has a passion for watches and he loves to collect them. He owns exactly 20 watches and will wear every one of them. De La Garza has watched and played soccer for most of his life .He is an avid fan of the soccer club, Bayern München. With a girlfriend of 8 years, De La Garza has asked the question. The couple is very happy with their decision and they will be getting married within the next couple of years. De La Garza is going to be working for his fiancés father this upcoming summer. He will be working at an ethanol plant in Ohio and plans to work there for a few years.

Students speak up about sexual assault on campus By Robert Rivera rmr176@txstate.edu SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State students were interviewed on their thoughts/opinions on sexual assault as it relates to the campus environment and college life on Oct. 29 – Nov. 1. The interviews were conducted by Texas State Media Writing students for an assignment that required obtaining direct quotes and opinions from various sources to discuss sexual assault. “(Sexual assault is) sexual acts exercised on involuntary individuals,” said Andrew Samples, a 22-year-old male. The definition of sexual assault expressed by Samples tended to be the general idea held by most students interviewed. Although most students have not personally been a victim to sexual assault, many showed a similar resolve regarding punishments for those who commit the act.
