Meet Navy Veteran, Kyle Schofield

Kyle Schofield is a 28-year-old Mass Communication and Public Relations major at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. Although he was born in Flint, Michigan, Kyle moved to San Marcos, Texas, when he was only three months old and he considers himself a true Texan. Interestingly, Kyle has a mutated gene that causes his hair to be brown except for his facial hair, which is orange.

After graduating from San Marcos High School in 2007, Kyle took time off before college and joined the Navy for six years. While in the Navy, Kyle wanted to work as a Naval scuba diver, but due to the available positions, he ended up working with the Submarine Navigation division instead.

While in the Navy, Kyle traveled to many different countries including: Japan, South Korea, Australia, and Singapore. His favorite experience overseas was when his chef started dancing to “Gangnam Style” while he was at dinner in South Korea. Despite his many travels, Kyle hopes to one day visit Venice, Italy.
