Meet Lamborghini Enthusiast, MacShayne Walpole




MacShayne Walpole, born in Louisiana, moved to Katy, Texas, in 2004. At 20 years old, she is now a junior at Texas State University. Getting to her junior year was not a breeze, though. MacShayne Walpole, who goes by Mac, had a torn and flipped meniscus with missing bone and cartilage floating around her knee which led to a mandatory surgery, which after, affected everything in her life, especially walking. Luckily, Walpole has passions that keep her busy. With a love for cars, specifically Lamborghinis, she ties in her talent of drawing design with her passion to design stickers. She advertises her art on Instagram at the handle @misfortvne. Due to this passion, Walpole plans on designs advertisements for big name cars and aspires to work for Lamborghini. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, hiking, and hanging out with her Doberman Pinscher, Rousch.

Students speak up about sexual assault on campus By Robert Rivera rmr176@txstate.edu SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State students were interviewed on their thoughts/opinions on sexual assault as it relates to the campus environment and college life on Oct. 29 – Nov. 1. The interviews were conducted by Texas State Media Writing students for an assignment that required obtaining direct quotes and opinions from various sources to discuss sexual assault. “(Sexual assault is) sexual acts exercised on involuntary individuals,” said Andrew Samples, a 22-year-old male. The definition of sexual assault expressed by Samples tended to be the general idea held by most students interviewed. Although most students have not personally been a victim to sexual assault, many showed a similar resolve regarding punishments for those who commit the act.
