From Red to Maroon: Meet Megan Reger

After an initial arrangement fell through shortly after her high school graduation, Megan Reger was forced to travel alone into the desolate wasteland that is North Texas. Lubbock, Texas, is home to Texas Tech, the university she would be attending her freshman year of college, or as she warmly recalled, “a dusty West Texas town.” There, however, she would find her voice and connect with an audience during her venture into the world of vlogging. With approximately 200 subscribers, Reger spoke to the students of Texas Tech about anything relating to their community on and off campus, taking inspiration from notable vloggers, Monica Church and Casey Neistat, by recanting musings through dynamic video montages.

Homesickness (and maybe a small dose of boredom) eventually took over and prompted her to transfer to Texas State University, where her family resides in the next town over, New Braunfels. Now a junior, Megan, 20, is working towards getting her bachelor's in electronic media. Today you can find her in the local New Braunfels coffee shop, but only if you’re up early enough to catch her during her 5 a.m. shift!
